The British Invasion was a phenomenon that
occurred in the mid-1960s when rock and pop music acts
from the United Kingdom, as well as other aspects of British culture, became
popular in the United States, and significant to the rising "counterculture" on both sides of the Atlantic.
Pop and rock groups such as the Beatles, the Dave Clark Five, the Kinks, the Rolling Stones, Herman's Hermits, and the Animals were at the forefront of the invasion.

THE ZOMBIES
The
Zombies were one of the best groups of the British invasion. In 1964 when won a
competition they signed a contract with the discotheque Decca. Tito Burns
became his representative.
This
group was composed by: Rod Argent, Paul Atkinson, Chris White, Hugh Grundy and
Colin Blunstone. They are known by their combination and vocal harmony. The
first single from the Zombies was "She's Not There".

THE YARDBIRDS
One of the most important groups in Great Britain of the 60's is The Yardbirds, was created in 1963. The band split in 1968, although they returned to activity in the 1990s. His current members are Jim McCarty, John Idan, Johnny A., Kenny Aaronson, Myke Scavone.
Their first album was “Five Live Yardbirds” (1964).
A good song is “Smokestack Lightning”.
THE ANIMALS
The group emerged in
Newcastle in the early 1960s.
They liked black
music. Over the years, his sound has tended toward psychedelia, recording
albums in one style or another.

The Kinks was a British original rock band in 1963. After several changes in
the group.
This band was formed
by the brothers Ray and Dave Davies.
Original members Peter Quaife and Mick
Avory were later replaced.
One of his best hits is his third single "You Really Got Me".
The Second British Invasion refers to music acts from the United
Kingdom that became popular in the United States from the middle of 1982 into
late 1986, primarily due to the cable music channel MTV. The term derives from the similar British Invasion of the U.S. in the 1960s. While acts with a wide variety of styles were
part of the invasion, it was mainly synthpop and new wave influenced acts that predominated.
During the late 1980s, glam metal and dance music replaced Second Invasion acts atop the U.S. charts.
BIG COUNTRY
Big Country was a rock
band formed by Stuart Adamson in Scotland in 1981.
The band was formed
by Adamson ... Bruce Watson, Clive Parker, Tony Butler and Mark Brzezicki.
The first single they
released was "Fields of Fire" and later they released another called
"Harvest Home", this one reached to the Top Ten in England, this
single was unique by the arrangements of guitars of Celtic inspiration.
The last album was
"Come Up Screaming". The following year, Adamson was found dead in a
hotel room in Hawaii.
The band's biggest
hit was the single "In A Big Country" from the album
"Crossing".

supergroup's follow-up album. The band was formed in New York City late in 1984
during a break in Duran Duran's schedule that became a lengthy hiatus. The

ARCADIA
Arcadia were a new
wave British group formed in 1985 by Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, and Roger Taylor who was a component of Duran Duran as a
side project during a break in that band's schedule.
Their
drummer didn’t appear with them, but he was in their songs.

They are an English -but from USA as well- band who
was created in 1978. They have had so many differnet members al over their career
just because one of their members died in a drug-related way.
Hynde, the only component that
has been in the band since the start, launched a solo career in 2014, and the
Pretenders were dormant as a band between 2012 and 2016. However, The
Pretenders are once again active, having issued an album in and toured in 2016.

a group that embraced several styles. In 1983 the group was formed as a duo, by
Paul Weller and Mike Talbot. In 1984, at age 18 he joined the group Steve
White, and later Steve joined Dee C. Lee.
